How to rotate Docker logs safely in production?

Some containers grow JSON logs too fast. What is a safe way to rotate/limit logs without losing important traces?

Set log-driver to json-file with max-size/max-file or use the local driver. For centralized logging, ship to Loki/ELK and keep container logs minimal.
