Real-Time Infrastructure Monitoring

MikroTik, servers, Windows machines, websites and Zimbra mail - live Grafana/Prometheus dashboards. Plus Wazuh security monitoring for security visibility.

What infrastructure monitoring is

Infrastructure monitoring continuously watches the availability, load and resources of your real systems - network equipment, servers, workstations, your website and mail server. The goal is to catch problems early, before they stop your staff from working.

What follows are not screenshots or mockups - these are real, running Grafana/Prometheus and Wazuh dashboards we already use. Each card links straight to the live dashboard for that technology.

What we monitor

Each card shows what we track, why it matters and what problems we catch - with a button to the live dashboard.

MikroTik

We track: CPU, RAM, network interfaces, temperatures, errors, wireless links, queues and device load.

Why it matters: MikroTik is the core of your office network - routing, firewall, VPN. A problem there slows or stops everything behind it.

We catch: An overloaded interface, overheating, rising link errors, an exhausted queue.

Servers (Linux)

We track: CPU, RAM, swap, disks and I/O, filesystems, network, processes and uptime - via Node Exporter + Prometheus.

Why it matters: The server is usually where the most services depend at once - database, files, internal apps.

We catch: A disk filling up before it becomes critical, unusually high load, a stopped process/service, a network issue.

Windows Machines

We track: CPU, RAM, disks, network, services and performance - via Windows Exporter + Prometheus + Grafana.

Why it matters: Windows servers and workstations carry business apps, file shares and domain services - quiet issues there get expensive.

We catch: A stopped Windows service, memory exhaustion, disk slowdown, an unusual uptime pattern.

Websites

We track: HTTP status, response time, DNS lookup, TLS version and days until SSL certificate expiry - via Prometheus Blackbox Exporter.

Why it matters: An expired certificate or a site outage means lost customers and revenue, often unnoticed for hours.

We catch: Site offline, slow response, an expiring SSL certificate, a DNS issue.

Zimbra Mail

We track: Services, SMTP/IMAP ports, mail queue, deferred messages, CPU and RAM on the mail server.

Why it matters: A stopped mail server or a backed-up queue means delayed or lost business email, often unnoticed right away.

We catch: A stopped SMTP/IMAP port, a growing queue of undelivered mail, an overloaded server.

Wazuh — Security Monitoring / SIEM

We track: security events, alerts, vulnerabilities, file integrity, configuration changes and suspicious agent activity.

Why it matters: this is a different layer from infrastructure monitoring - it watches the security of a system, not just whether it's running.

We catch: a compromised account, an unauthorized file change, a known vulnerability, suspicious agent behavior.

Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Availability (uptime)
  • Load (CPU/RAM/disk)
  • Resources & capacity
  • Service status
  • Network connectivity
  • Endpoint availability

Wazuh / Security Monitoring

  • Security events
  • Incident alerts
  • Vulnerabilities
  • File integrity
  • Suspicious activity
  • Security visibility

The two complement each other but are not the same. For a full architecture combining firewall, EDR, access and SIEM, see IT Infrastructure Protection. Don't have a network to monitor yet? See building network infrastructure; for a website or online store problem, see emergency website support.

FAQ

Infrastructure monitoring tracks availability, load, resources and services (CPU, RAM, disk, network, uptime). Wazuh tracks security - events, alerts, vulnerabilities, file integrity and suspicious activity. The two complement each other but are not the same thing.

Each dashboard below is a real, working Grafana/Prometheus or Wazuh dashboard with live data - not a static screenshot. You can open it directly from its card.

No - the examples below show real technologies we already work with. Monitoring is set up around your specific infrastructure.

Both. Deploying a monitoring stack (Prometheus/Grafana, Zabbix, Wazuh) is a one-off setup; ongoing monitoring and alerting is typically a monthly subscription.
